Merdude was exposed to a mutagen in the sea, causing him to change into a mutant merman. He claims to be a descendant of Neptune.

Merdude starred alongside Ray Fillet, Mondo Gecko and Michelangelo of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the spin-off miniseries Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Presents: Merdude.
