Castle has been trying to establish a connection between the Saints and organized crime by conducting business with Mickey. During their latest meet, Bobby Saint asked Mickey to accompany him during the transaction in order to impress his father. Unfortunately, the FBI react too early with their raid and Bobby is caught in the crossfire. Mickey weeps over the loss of Bobby and fears the wrath of Howard Saint, Bobby’s father.

Bobby’s brother Johnny delivers the sad news to his parents and orders to have Mickey bailed out of jail. Howard Saint allows Mickey to live out of respect for his father who saved Howard’s life and he kills Bobby’s bodyguard who should have been looking after him. As his penance, Mickey is reduced to being a valet at Howard’s nightclub “Saints and Sinners”. As the Saints celebrate the Castle massacre, Mickey is surprised by the sudden arrival of Frank Castle who survived the bloodbath.

Frank brings Mickey to his apartment and initiates his own brand of interrogation. Frank tells Mickey that the flame is so hot that once it scorches the flesh on Mickey’s back, the nerves will be severed to the point that it will feel a chilling sensation. In actuality, Frank cooks a steak for the smell and pokes Mickey’s back with a frozen pop. Mickey gives in and tells Frank everything he needs to know about Howard’s operation and what are his weaknesses. Mickey offers his services to Frank as an inside man in order to set up the Saints for their own demise because he hates all of the Saints. Mickey also informs Frank that Howard’s wife has a routine every Thursday and Howard’s right-hand man Quentin Glass is having a homosexual affair with another mobster.

After Frank is brutalized by the Russian and saved by the tenants from his apartment building, he calls Mickey to put their plan into action. Mickey starts by planting seeds of doubt into Howard’s head making him believe that his wife Livia has been having an affair with Quentin Glass. Mickey watches from afar as Howard kills his best friend and beloved wife. For Frank, this is simply punishment but for Mickey, this is sweet revenge. Mickey wasn’t present at Howard’s nightclub when Frank attacked.
