An orphan from an early age, Tim Wilson grew to become a detective in the Midnight City Police Department.
One evening he, along with his childhood friends scientist Jack August and Middle School teacher John Parad, were the victims of an assault by the local branch of the gang known as Paradox. Despite their best efforts, the three were beaten and then shot by the thugs. Upon awakening several days later in the hospital, Tim was devastated to learn that Jack’s injuries had left him paralyzed, while John had died in the attack.
As soon as he was able, Tim was determined to seek revenge on the Paradox gang, but Jack had a better idea. Jack used his access to King Enterprises to allow Tim to steal a prototype combat suit, which the two of them then modified for Tim’s specific use. Tim pursued the gang that had attacked them, apprehending them and leaving them for the police to find.
With Jack’s help, Tim continued on his new mission of bringing justice to the streets of Midnight City as “The Midnight Owl.” He encountered numerous threats of both a mundane and powered nature, and eventually became involved in an adventure that led him to meet the heroes Steel Wolf and Thunder Woman. The three became fast friends, and have teamed up on many occasions since. Tim has also aided his local superhuman team known as the Frontliners, though he declined full membership, and has also worked with the pan-dimensional groups known as the Empyrean Command and The Power Company when needed. He also maintains a close relationship with the heroes Steel Wolf and Thunder Woman.
Midnight Owl continues to battle against evil in Midnight City against villains like his former master Dark Naga, the serial killer Dolling, the frigid Ice Queen, The Mentalist, the master of self-duplication Multiply, Paradox, the Halloween-themed witch named Pumpkinrella, the monstrous Living Snakepit, the trio known collectively as Chimera, and Midnight City’s criminal overlord, The Masked King. Midnight Owl has also drawn the ire of the god of separation named Dipuc.
