Miharu Rokujou

Miharu is a 14-year-old middle school student, apathetic and stubborn, he simlpy wants to live a life of indiffernece. Unaware of the Nabari world, he lives with his grandmother and works at their restaurant in the Banten, a small village. Little does he know how much his life will changed forever. One day, a fellow student named Kouichi Aizawa and a teacher, Tobari Kumohira, who he has known for some time, start pressuring him to join their Nindo Club (way of the ninja). Relentlessly refusing and quickly disappearing to

escape the two’s constant pressure, Miharu is soon attacked by ninjas. Tobari and Kouichi defend Miharu and try to fight the ninjas off. Confused, Miharu tries to fight off his attackers and in the commotion, the reasons behind everything, the Shinra Banshou is awaken. Within Miharu is a acient scroll inwritten into his body and mind. It is a secret art that holds endless wisdom and power. Miharu is quickly overloaded with information, causing him to lose all control. The power fends off the attacking ninjas. In an attempt to seal the Shinra Banshou, Kouichi impales Miharu, being careful to miss all his vitals. Lashing back, the Shinra Banshou represses and Miharu blacks out only after Tobari steps in.

Sometime later, Miharu wakes up in the school hospital, his stab wound completely healed. Now, despite not wanting to be, Miharu Rokujou is introduced into the Nabari world (World of the ninja). He is told by Tobari and Kouichi of the Shinra Banshou that has been awaken inside him. Four people, including himself, had the Sinra Banshou awakened within them and each time, the ninja clans would work together to kill the bearer. They feared of the great power it held to grant any wish and aslo destroy the world. Hattori, leader of the Kairoshu (or Grey Wolves) an elite independent ninja organization, seeks to use the

Shinra Banshou to change the world to his own ideals. Tobari pledges to Miharu that he will protect and find a way to remove the Shinra Banshou from him.

In the following time, Miharu workd with Kumohira and Aizawa until a young girl, Raimei Shimizu, shows up. She attacks Kouichi saying she wants to test the power of the Shinra Banshou owner. (when excited she often mistakens people for others) After being corrected that Miharu is the Shinra Banshou owner, it is then made clear that Tobari knows the samurai girl from before. Throughout the day, Raimei follows Miharu around, stumped by how he can be so care free about life. Though unimpressed by Miharu she wants to take him to the Fuuma village. A place hidden deep within the forest of a Japanese countryside, with nearly all the text reguarding ninjutsu and the Shinra Banshou. Reluctant to allow Miharu to go, Tobari firmly protest but later finds himself riding on a bullet train with the three students to Fuuma.
