Misao Aki is the school nurse in Peach Girl. She was also Kairi’s tutor when he dropped out of junior high. She has always harbored feelings for Kairi’s brother Ryo, but was too shy to ever tell him.
Misao is mature and helpful and always gives the characters support. Like Kairi, she isn’t fooled by Sae’s fake-crying. She is a confidant for all the characters, and they all confess things to her at different times, and she always keeps their secrets.
She and Momo are thought to be a lot alike, as they both have no patience for Kairi’s bullshit.
Despite her silence about her feelings for Ryo, she is actually the only woman he truly loves. He has given her the same pearl cross necklace he gives all his girlfriends (including Morika and Sae).
She is insecure about her weight. In the 5th volume, she begins a crash diet, and actually faints in front of Kairi, who tries to kiss her while she is resting.
She would always take her glasses off in front of Ryo to appear prettier in front of him, but after she sees how he treats Sae, she realizes how figuratively blind she’d been to his atrocious behavior. She tells him outright “Goodbye, Ryo. I have absolutely no respect for the way you’re treating Sae.”
