Bernice Beazly is the elderly cafeteria chef of Riverdale High School. She has been described as “unkempt, surly, loud, sarcastic and no nonsense”. Her bad cooking has been a recurring joke for decades. Storylines that focus on her depict her side of the story. She has little to no help around the kitchen and has to feet hundreds of people in every single day. Add the miniscule budget for foor supplies and you have a recipe for disaster. Conversely some of the meals she prepares seem to be enjoyed by students, particularly Jughead Jones.
Beazly has a sharp tongue and a quick temper. More often than not the target of both is her employer, Waldo Weatherbee. She seems to be amiable with the rest of the faculty, particularly Geraldine Grundy.
