Major Story Arcs
After enjoying a very savage beating of a ward, Mister Drake goes home for dinner and berates his wife, Emma Drake. He ignores her request for his attention and goes to bed.
That night he is awakened by a scream. Mister Drake marches to the asylum to find Kurt, his lackey, helping the freshly beaten ward by putting salve on the wounds. Drake beats Kurt and then dodges a knife attack from another ward; he kills the ward to serve as a lesson to the others. He revels in their hatred of him.
Before he can leave the asylum, Mister Drake is drugged by Kurt and dumped in the streets to wander like a crazy person. A judge deems Drake unstable and leaves him in the care of his wife.
Mister Drake becomes lucid and realizes that he had been drugged by his wife. This knowledge is worthless, as Emma procures a divorce, gets all of Drake’s money, and throws him into the asylum. It is presumed that Mister Drake dies when the other wards find him no longer a threat.
