Mr. Paterson is first seen as a member of the prison board advocating against the release of Dr. Alloy due to his history of mayhem and chaos. It is unknown what his life was like before becoming a member of the board.

The Goon Volume Three
Mr. Paterson is a member of the prison board that contains Dr. Alloy, a notorious villain of sorts who has terrorized the general public and the prison committee multiple times. The time has come to discuss if they should release Dr. Alloy into the public again or keep him locked up forever, and while Mr. Paterson is entirely against the idea of releasing him the other members of the board are willing to free him, sending Paterson into a tizzy.
