Mitch Carson

Origin

Mitch Carson was a high ranked S.H.I.E.L.D. security agent who was supposed to become the wearer of the newest Ant-Man costume, made by original Ant-Man, Doctor Henry Pym.

Creation

Mitch Carson was created by Robert Kirkman and Andy Kuhn and first appeared in Marvel Team-Up Volume 3 issue 21 (2006).

Advisory to Eric O’Grady

The suit was however stolen (actually taken away by accident when S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Chris McCarthy tried it on. Chris was however killed during a Hydra attack on S.H.I.E.L.D. and it was then that Eric O’Grady took the suit for himself. After the Hydra attack, Mitch was determined to find back the suit and bring in whoever stole it. During his mission to capture Ant-Man and to regain the suit, he was heavily burned in the face during a fight with this new Ant-Man. After that battle, it did not take long for Mitch to find out that the new Ant-Man was actually Eric O’Grady. Mitch Carson became Eric O’Grady’s first archenemy. Eventually Mitch managed to capture Eric, but instead of bring him to justice, he took Eric for himself to torture, while wearing the Ant-Man suit himself. Mitch confessed to Eric that he was a bit more then just a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. He had killed his father when he was fifteen years old and many more after that. He had however never been caught and managed to find work with S.H.I.E.L.D.. He would have killed Eric for sure, if not for the timely intervention of Iron Man. Seeing Mitch in the Ant-Man suit and torturing Eric, Iron Man took out Mitch and he was arrested on the spot for attempted murder and stealing the Ant-Man suit.

Ant-Man (2015)

Actor Martin Donovan will be playing SHIELD Agent Mitchell Carson who is posing as a prospective investor that would like to fund and/ or possibly acquire the Ant-Man technology from Darren Cross. Carson wants the Pym Particle formula in order to suit HYDRA’s needs and interests. At one point, Cross comes under attack by Scott Lang and Hank Pym. Carson manages to escape with a sample of Cross’ version of the Pym Particle formula. Carson and HYDRA may pursue the idea of using the Pym Particles to infiltrate, spy or assassinate their enemies but the greater danger lies in the possibility that HYDRA may discover the Quantum Realm aka the Microverse
