According to” Fantastic Four” vol. 212 (November, 1979), c. 1250 BC, Moses, a leader of the Jewish people enslaved in Egypt, challenged Pharaoh Ramses II. He was trying to gain freedom for his people. Anath-Na Mut, the Egyptian court magician, failed to best Moses in a contest of magical power. Ramses II banished his failed sorcerer. Moses eventually won the freedom of his people, leading them to the great Exodus. Anath-Na Mut would eventually become the immortal known as the Spinx. Moses claimed his powers came from a deity.Â
