Mr. Mimico is a parody of Batman arch villain Bane in appearance and in use of a foreign substance to increase muscle growth.
The name was chosen because is sounds like “mimicry”, reflecting his chameleon abilities and because Mimico is an actual neighborhood and former municipality of Toronto, Ontario, Canada near where creator Greg Hyland resides.
