Story Arcs
Mr. Peebles is a member of the Hand of Four, a group of self-interested rich businessman who want to take over Britain during the Victorian era.
They engage Lord Giles Morgan to manipulate Parliament for them, and pay Dr. Pretorius to create a wonder-working machine that can control electric fields. They use this machine to resurrect Morgan twice after unfortunate deaths.
However the detectives Mandy Flynn, Salem Hawkshaw, and Bozz find out about their plans and try to stop them. The Hand manages to temporarily entrap Bozz but the others rescue him. The machine explodes and kills Morgan and Pretorius, but Peebles’s fate is unclear. Presumably he was arrested afterwards.
