Nappa

First Appearance

Being the general of the saiyan army he was in charge of the protection and teaching of King Vegeta’s son, Prince Vegeta. Later when Prince Vegeta’s power exceeded his own, Nappa became Vegeta’s right hand man. Where ever Vegeta went Nappa was with him. When another saiyan, Raditz, was killed on Earth Nappa and Vegeta went to Earth looking for the Dragonballs. It took them one year to reach Earth. When they got to Earth Nappa destroyed a city and Earth’s Z-Fighters engaged them in battle. Yamcha, Tien, Chiautzu,and Piccolo where easily killed. Goku showed up before Nappa could kill the rest. Nappa was no match for Goku. Lying on the ground,beaten and humiliated, Nappa asked for Vegeta’s help. Vegeta grabbed Nappa and threw him into the air and shot him with a blast that ended Nappa’s life.

Appearance

Nappa is bald and has a thick mustache. He wears the standard Saiyan armor with black armored gloves and a blue scouter.

Personality

Nappa is extremely aggressive and brutal. He is also highly confident in his power. He holds Vegeta in very high regard until Vegeta betrayed him. Nappa has a tendency to go into intense rage that he is not able to think straight and has to be told by Vegeta to concentrate in the battlefield.

Powers and Abilities

As a member of the Saiyan race, Nappa possesses all the powers inherent to his race. He is super-humanly strong and durable, and possesses enhanced speed and reflexes. Despite his size, Nappa has proven numerous times to outspeed all the Z Warriors, aside from Goku, during the first season of the show. He had also “evolved” to the point where grabbing his tail would not incapacitate him.

Great Ape Transformation : As a saiyan, Nappa can transform into a great ape however he has no control over this form.

Super Strength and Durabilty: Nappa can lift approx. 50 tons at the time of his appearance during the first season of Dragon Ball Z. He is immensely strong, and stronger than any of the Z Warriors at this time (until Goku finishes training with King Kai). Nappa was seen wrecking a Fighter Jet in order to “amuse himself,” and was seen effortlessly tearing through steel. He also easily knocked away Gohan’s ‘rage enhanced’ attack once Piccolo was killed during the battle with Nappa and Vegeta. It can be assumed that if he had not been defeated by Goku, and killed by Vegeta, Nappa would have become more powerful as time went on.

Super Speed : Nappa can fly at about Mach 2.

Energy manipulation: Nappa is an expert at ki manipulation and has come up with various ki techniques. His highest power blast is easily at continent wrecking level.

Overall Power

Nappa is powerful enough to destroy an entire city with only two fingers. He was able to dominate the Z-Fighters, survive a Chiatzou’s bomb and Tien’s spirit tri beam without showing distress and fear. Nappa, however, was beaten by Goku but he managed to put up a fight.

Techniques

Bomber DX – Nappa fires a white colored blast from his hand. He used this move against Piccolo.

Nappa Cannon – This is Nappa’s ultimate attack. Nappa powers up a lot of ki and fires a strong blast from his mouth.

Reappearance

In GT, during when Super Android 17 appeared, a large hole was created between Earth and Hell (which contains all the past villains from the previous sagas. Nappa came back to earth and destroyed a city (like last time) and then Vegeta arrived to Nappa. Nappa made an attempted to attack Vegeta, but Vegeta once again blasted Nappa away like last time.
