The second of Queen Beryl’s generals to appear in the series, Nephrite’s personality and characterization vary depending on the series. According to the Materials collection, he is noted as being “emotional and intense” in addition to being “likely to get himself killed”. in the manga, he is extremely proud.
First anime
In the first anime, he is depicted as the most morally conflicted of the Shittennou and the only one to defect from the Dark Kingdom. In this version, he at one point goes undercover disguised as the wealthy Masato Sanjouin, and he falls for Usage’s close friend Naru Osaka.
He dies at the hands of Zoisite’s plants, as he shields Naru from being killed.
