A detective for the New York Police Department, Neil Garrett was in charge of an investigation of a series of attacks where the victims were drained of their own adrenalin. The attacker was dubbed “The Vampire” by the media. While investigating a possible lead in the case involving the theft of the victims’ medical records, Garrett received information from Spider-Man that the attacker was actually Venom. Garrett leaked the information to the media after Spider-Man revealed the identity of Venom. he had hoped to draw the symbiote out of hiding. Later, when Doctor Octopus kidnapped the Palestinian Prime Minister and threatened to assassinate him, Garrett provided Spider-Man with information integral to the investigation.
