Neosaurus

Origin

Neosaurus was the self-described “most magnificent artificial brain” in the galaxy. He moved about by controling reptilian humanoid exo-bodies. The exo-bodies had artificial brains wired into them. Neosaurus kept complaining about the cold as his body favors warmer climates. He can fly by using an “Imperial Flight Patch”. Only one exo-body was actually depicted. Uncertain if they are all identical.

Creation

Neosaurus was created by Grant Morrison and Igor Kordey and first appeared in New X-Men issue 124 (2002).

Joining the Imperial Guard

The Imperial Guard is a legion of superpowered champions who protect and defend the Shi’ar galactic empire.

Its members are drawn both from the Shi’ar and other alien races governed by the Shi’ar. The majority of the Imperial Guard’s members are known as Borderers. They assist the governors of conquered planets in enforcing the Shi’ar imperial law.

The Imperial Guardsmen however belong to the elite corps that protects the ruler of the empire, known as the Majestor or Majestrix, and executes his or her orders.

Versus the X-Men

Neosaurus was assigned to attack the Xavier Mansion alongside fellow Guardians. He kept in communication with their ship. He was reluctant to take this mission and was too distracted to notice Wolverine preparing for an attack. Wolverine smashed his jaw apart and pushed the artificial brain out of the exo-body, killing it. Wolverine was only interested in getting Neosaurus’ Patch. Gladiator reported that it was only one of the exo-bodies. Where his other exo-bodies were stored was not mentioned.
