Creation
Nester was created as a mascot for the Nintendo Power magazine by Howard Phillips who was then the editor of the magazine. At first Nester was a sidekick to Phillips’ self insert Howard Phillips character, but when Phillips left the magazine, Nester stayed and got his solo adventures. Nester even got a game appearance, Nester’s Funky Bowling where it was reveled he had a sister, Hester.
