‘War against Heaven’
Even before time itself, Non originally started off not much different than Spectre & Phantom Stranger a servant to the Presence and a doer of his will. Eventually, Non begin to feel he wasn’t was tapping his full power and grew tired of the Presence’s missions and pawn games. Abandoning Heaven, he sought out Darkness and embraced it becoming a force that threatens all creation.
Seeing not only feats of Spectre and PS, but much of himself in them, Non plans to bring one of them to his side. Noticing that Phantom Stranger atomize a murderer and then usurped his life/family, Non takes the would-be-murdered under his wing and transforms him with power to rival Phantom Stranger. From then on Sin-eater would be groomed as his heir and the fires of hate would be directed towards Phantom Stranger.
‘Judge not’
After Phantom Stranger is nearly killed by being stabbed with the mythical Spear-of-Destiny, his soul is usurped to a realm chosen by Sin Eater for questioning. Non watches in the background while Sin-Eater tortures his counterpart and only gets involved personally when he sees Phantom Stranger lose hope from his family’s house (the last of his memories) burned. After Sin Eater introduces his master Non & gloats about the house, did Phantom Stranger lunges to confront Sin-Eater only to be humiliated by Non. Non tackles and releases bits of hellfire on Stranger, fire that burns unlike anything else and spiritually in doubt.
Sensing Phantom Stranger’s faltering will, Non and Sin-Eater enact their final plan the destruction of Heaven. They cross the Multiverse ripping holes across Mortal and heavenly realms hoping for a collision that will shatter both & leave rule for a new Lord. Noticing these holes on 2 different occasions, Spectre & Phantom Stranger team up to put a see the severity of their plight. Upon laying eyes on the grand scheme of this, they realize this will effect all realms and that they need Non out the way if this is to be fixed.
‘No honor amongst Demons’
Before Spectre and Phantom Stranger can address the dire situation before them, Non and Sin-eater ambush the 2 and drain their Godly energies away leaving just the men underneath the powerful shells. Seeing Phantom Stranger so vulnerable, Sin Eater pleads to his master to let him finish Stranger…. which Non declines saying Stranger is a powerful being worthy of respect. Sin Eater was clearly not happy about the prasie of his mortal enemy but fell back once Non out his foot down. Non, explaining his Origins as a former servant of heaven, turn and sympathizes with the both Stranger/Spectre referring to them as puppets of an uncaring God who do his will brainlessly. Stating he was like that until he found power, he wishes to share this enlightenment with those 2….. for a price.
Non offers the now mortal men a Blade, angelic metal forged in the fires of Hell that will let one rip out the soul of a person. He asks who of the 2 would kill the other, in order to find freedom and true power. He brings up their past fights and hatred of the other to stoke their fires and finds a participant…. in Spectre’s host. The man stabs Judas (Phantom Strager’s human form) in the chest, but it is all a ruse to expose the soul of each other and fuse into a single Omnipotent being. Packing the combined power of Heaven itself, Non is taken aback briefly before sending Sin-eater and his army to what amounts to a suicide mission while he coldly watches and warps away from. Non was in no rush to gain battle scars from a single, no room for weakness, when his greater war with the presence was still at hand.
Powers and abilities:
Non is a powerful Entity, who’s Origin is strikingly similar to Lucifer Morningstar. Once an agent of Heaven (Angel or not it doesn’t say), he left God’s light to find true power… and found it. Non takes on a Dog form much like the Presence in this story & his feats include:
- Fighting a war with the Presence that has been going on before time itself.
- Causing holes across Creation (“Heaven, Earth, and every dimension in between” = Creation) that would have ended in the destruction of the Godly and Earthen realms.
- Creating a match for Phantom Stranger, Sin Eater.
- His Hellfire disables Phantom Stranger instantly and his power makes Spectre recruit Phantom Stranger for help.
