We first see Nurse Marie at the end of issue #1 of Hellblazer: City of Demons (HB:COD). She is introduced to take care of John Constantine while he is in the Hospital.

Later in HB:COD she becomes a possible love interest of John Constantine and becomes his partner in stopping the spread of his Blood being given in transfusions. John Constantine’s blood is tainted by both Nergal and the Succubus Chantinelle (Ellie). This tainted blood has a demonic influence on normal people infected by it.

The End of HB:COD ends off with mild open ending. It is possible Nurse Marie bleed out after her fight with John or that the paramedics he sent to her arrived on time. Her current whereabouts are still unknown.

Note: Hellblazer: City of Demons ran parallel to the ongoing series Hellblazer. Factoring that the John Constantine in HB:COD has scars across both eyes suggests this is a parallel John Constantine. Not Canon to the Ongoing.Â
