Nyarlathotep

Nyarlathotep is one of the Great Old Ones, the only of them who cares about mortal matters, travelling the worlds and taking different shapes. He possesses many powers and his true form, like that of the other Great Old Ones, is sealed in a realm beyond the multiverse, therefore he needs to use avatars of himself. Immeasurable ages ago, he and the other gods invaded the multiverse, but were stopped by the Kingdom of Ythill and his king, Hastur. Eventually the Great Old Ones were forced to leave the multiverse, but the clash between Nyarlathotep’s powers and Hastur’s science destroyed the very fabric of reality of the universe, that started to sink in the “Non-where”, a.k.a the membrane between universes, where reality is mixed with dreams and existence with non-existence. The world and the capital of the kingdom, Carcosa, were gone, but the palace was still there and Nyarlathotep proposed Hastur to stop time in that place, saving his family and turning it in an isle lost in the multiverse and, in turn, Hastur would have become his slave, disappearing together with Carcosa. The day Carcosa and Hastur would have reconnected with the palace of Ythill, the Great Old Ones would have come back to the multiverse. Hastur accepted to save his family and Nyarlathotep started his plan, regardless of the time that would have taken. Nowadays Kurjak has become the bearer of the Pale Mask, the living link to reconnect Carcosa and the palace of Ythill, and Nyarlathotep started moving his army to make that happen.
