Nzame recently healed Gorilla Grodd from near death. Grodd planned on killing Nzame afterwards but was interrupted when Spin teleported him to Keystone City.
It was implied that 1,000 years later Nzame would be killed so the Ultra-Humanite would be able to transfer his brain into the body, achieving his iconic look.
