Origin
Ogeode was a great wizard of Order who saved Crystar‘s life by transforming him into a crystal warrior, using the Prisma-Crystal. He also transformed many of Crystar’s companions. When one of those companions was injured, he forcibly transformed his daughter Ika, observing the process closely in order to learn a way to heal crystal warriors. He joined his friends and king in hope of defeating the evil Moltar, brother of Crystar.
Creation
Ogeode was created by Mary Jo Duffy and Bret Blevins and first appeared in The Saga of Crystar, Crystal Warrior issue 1 (1983).
Major Story Arcs
Meeting Doctor Strange
He met with Doctor Strange, and revealed himself to have very little studied mastery of magic. Instead, he cast spells through intuition, much to Strange’s frustration.
Weirdworld
Some years later, he appeared in Weirdworld and he used magic to summon a plane filled with people for unknown purposes. He was able to save one of the initial survivors, teenager Rebecca Rodriguez, but he didn’t have time to explain his reasons to summon her, before he was sliced in half by Goleta the Wizardslayer.
From his corpse emerged the Catbeast, who joined Becca and Goleta so he can recover his human form of Ogeode.
