To Monsters
Old Jack Crow finds a little girl lost in a deep snowstorm and alone near his cabin deep in the woods of Manitoba, Canada, so he takes her in until she recuperates. She came all the way to find the “green man”. Old Jack Crow is told of the horrific cold that is killing everything slowly, but instead of the little girl wanting it to stop, her true form is revealed as Anton Arcane grotesquely bursts out of her skin. In the surprise, the Swamp Thing doesn’t manage to put up a decent fight before Arcane bites his head off, killing him instantly. Arcane recalls how that particular Swamp Thing was not “the first avatar of the Green or the Red that I have killed, but his death was most enjoyable…”
