Otto was apart of a sect of monks that believed Victor von Doom was their destined master. He traveled to Doom disguised as a drunkard protecting him when the time was right. He was mortally wounded when he saved Valeria for his master and it was then that he told Doom of the temple in the Himalayas and that he was destined to be their master and to learn the science of magic.
