He made his debut in the Dragon Ball Z: Broly – The Legendary Super Saiyan movie.
Due to the incredible power Broly displayed at a young age King Vegeta wanted Broly executed, Paragus pleaded for his sons life only to share the same fate. This is just before Frieza decided to destroy the planet and get rid of all the Saiyans, but broly’s heightened power level and the will to survive brought Broly back from near death and as an infant he carried his father through the blast to safety.
Paragus raised Broly on planets away from the eye of Frieza and possible other enemies. Broly struggled with his rage growing up and was incredibly violent, which cost Paragus his eye.
Paragus as a deep hatred for King Vegeta but due to King Vegeta being killed in the explosion of the planet by Frieza’s hand. Paragus focused all his revenge plans for Vegeta.
He searches the Galaxy looking for Vegeta, and lures vegeta and the Z Fighters to a doomed Planet to gain his revenge. Everything went according to plan but he didn’t take into account the power levels and resolve of the Z fighters and his plan ultimately fails.
He is later killed by his son Broly who crushed him to death inside an escape pod.
It is believed that Paragus must of had contact with Bardock at some point as he recognized Goku when he first laid eyes on him.
