Paul Pastor considered himself lucky. As a Youtube star he had quite a following, enough to buy his own house. After several years he started filming urban legends, trying to prove or debunk them. He discovered an old site of Murderworld. Paul claimed that every year, there was a contest being held at Murderworld; two hundred contestants and only one survivor.
His videos caught the attention of Murderworld’s owner Arcade, who invited Paul to document the contest. Paul agreed, but was set up to be in the contest, not just a spectator. When Paul, under pressure of being murdered by robotic versions of the Avengers, displayed his mutant powers, he was shot through the head by Miss Locke, Arcade’s assistent. Arcade then told the others, the contest was for humans, not mutants.
