Paul Phoenix

Origin

A professional American fighter, Paul Phoenix has a healthy reputation as one of the best fighters in the world, and his life’s ambition is to prove himself as the best fighter in the world. Proving himself victorious in minor fighting tournaments around the world, Paul is yet to win The King of The Iron Fist tournament, victory evading him more than a few times. Paul has a strong dislike of the Mishima family, and Heihachi’s pet bear Kuma. Paul also once drew in a fight against undefeated master fighter Kazuya Mishima, further fueling his dislike for the powerful martial arts family. He is keen to face Kazuya and finally defeat him. Paul is good friends with Marshall Law and his son Forrest Law. Paul is a motorbike enthusiast, and often works as a bodyguard to make extra money.

Creation

Paul Phoenix is a fictional character first introduced in the popular fighting video game franchise Tekken. Paul debuting in the first version of the game, Tekken released in 1994. A mainstay and staple of the Tekken Universe and mythos, he has appeared in all of the Tekken videogames as well as appears in most of the Tekken merchandise and products. Paul Phoenix is a Namco Bandai character and first appears in Tekken Saga #1. The character is known for his strong friendships with Marshall Law and Forest Law.

Powers and Abilities

A world renown fighter and martial arts master, Paul Phoenix is a judo master and practitioner, as well as trained and skilled in bajiquan and jujutsu. Paul often employs brutal and powerful short form strikes and attacks, quick and violent and full of power. He has several notable career highlights including a draw with powerful and skilled fighter Kazuya Mishima, and defeating the weaker form of Ogre.
