Unbeknownst to this woman, she drops her pearl necklace. It is returned by Charlie McCarthy and Mortimer Snerd. Charlie hopes the lady will give them a big reward. She almost does, but Mortimer refuses, on account that the lady would have done the same for them. She gives them no reward but can walk away with faith in the rising generation.
