In the Wonder Woman movie Persephone is a tortured Amazon who loses her eye in an anitent battle against Ares. In the present time she often guarded Ares and fell in love with him only to set him free. She follows Ares in battle and attempts or perhaps kills other Amazons in battle. She herself is finally killed by Hippolyta who asks her why she has turned against her sisters. Persephone responds that she may be a warrior but she is also a woman and she had fallen in love. This statement makes Hippolyta realize that the Amazons can not stay sequestered from man and she allows her daughter to go back to the world of man as an ambassador.
