Pete Ryan is only 16 but alters his birth certificate to get into the RAF. He suffers a series of mishaps and mistaken identities, including being grounded. He swaps with his cowardly squadron colleagueso that he can combat, successfully downing enemy aircraft, before his final flight sees him lose his life for a friend.
