Peter Graysen

Peter Graysen grew up on Chicago’s Southside in the Hyde Park neighborhood. Son of a cop David Graysen, and fan of police and detective shows and movies all his life, Peter wanted to catch the badguys like his dad. As he got older those dreams of kicking bad guy butt and taking names faded away as more realistic pursuits took precedence, such as a collage football scholarship, dating and studying criminal justice as he pursued his dream of opening a private detective agency in Chicago.

He learned all he could, but one day everything changed when his father didn’t come home. As days went by he tried to find out all he could, but the trail went cold and as a civilian there wasn’t much he could do. The police weren’t working with him, but eventually Detective Graysen was found dead in a garbage bag left in an alley. It was ruled a homicide and then, again, the trail went cold.

Tempted to drop out, Peter forced himself to focus on the long term. He stayed in shape as he continued to play football, trained in Aikido and Jujitsu and graduated top of his class with a BA in criminal justice with a focus on Criminal Investigation. He immediately applied for and joined the Chicago police force. He didn’t have a lot of leeway as a newbie, but found out what he could and with his arrest record and family name, in a few years he made detective.

Major Story Arcs

In the second issue of the Epitaph Bread and Salt ongoing series and Hexcraft Mechanics issue one, Peter investigated the Harrison case alongside FBI Agent Eric Tsang, who advises him to go home as there was nothing more he could do. In Victor Locke Demon Hunter issue one, it’s implied Peter is investigating the waitress that Patrika dropped from the sky and he’s aware that Agent Tsang handles odd cases. Seems they’re together after meeting during the investigation.
