History
When Phillip lost his job he moved to Los Angeles to be closer to his family. He join a cult called the Owl Cult, which was controlled by Cassandra Nova, masquerading as a young girl with emotional manipulation powers called Ginny Guzman.
Cassandra Nova required the cult to instigate the “Great Corruption” so as to tear down the walls between the real and Astral planes. This required sacrificing a telepath during the moon, which Phillip unwittingly was. Cassandra beheaded him with a sword.
