Philoctetes is a stubborn and grumpy satyr in Disney’s Hercules. His ultimate goal is to train the greatest hero, and that includes his trainee Hercules. After some initial reluctance, Phil agreed to train young Hercules, and is brought to tears when the people of Thebes refer to the mighty and triumphant Hercules as “Phil’s boy.”He shows confidence in his trainees, and treats them like they are his children. He has a bad temper, which comes out when he is disrespected or ignored. One thing he loves is women. He flirts with any beautiful woman he sees; in fact, when Hercules first approached him, Phil was watching women.
