Origin
In English, Piccola Fedetta Prussiana means little Prussian look-out. His fellow soldiers leave him to sit in a tree and watch for enemies, but he gets stuck in the tree. They desperately try to get him down. Eventually the only way they can think of to get him down is to shoot him down. His name is a play on the name of the character, “la piccola vedetta lombarda”, from the old romance novel Cuore by Edmondo de Amicis.
