Creation
The character named Polecat was first seen in Adventure Comics #331 and was created by Jerry Siegal and Jim Mooney. The date of his first appearance was April 1965.
Origin
Calling himself Polecat due to his stench causing abilities he tried out for the Legion of Super-Heroes but was rejected due to his power’s lack of application in battle.
Character Development
Original Continuity: New Earth
Dafe had the ability to emit a foul smelling stench from the two horns growing out of his head. People rarely interacted with him due to the stench and appearance, so it looked like he would be leading a lonely life.
When he learned the Legion of Super-Heroes, he thought he might have finally found a usefulness for his odd power. Calling himself Polecat, he tried out for the Legion, but was rejected due to his power’s lack of application in battle. After that he got a job working as a security guard in an Antarctic research facility.
5-Years Gap/Five Years Later
In the Alternate Timeline known as “5 Years Later”, Dafe would be one of many who would be abducted and mindwiped to serve the Dominators. After the Dominion’s downfall, Dafe’s mind was deprogrammed and he’s gone back to living a normal life.
Other Media
Polecat also made a cameo appearance in the T.V series Legion of Super-Heroes. The episode was called “Lightning Storm” and was released on February 10th of 2007.
In this episode Polecat is seen with a host of various galactic teens all waiting to be called up next to try out for Legion membership.
Powers and Abilities
Polecat was born with a particular physiology which cause two small horns from his temples. The two wo large prehensile horns on his forehead that produced powerful and foul stench from his horns.
