Porky Hogg had plans to kill off the Blue Beetle and take over the city. Killing the Blue Beetle outright was not good enough however as he had to disgrace him first. So he has his hoods toss a random little boy off the roof of a skyscraper and leaves the Blue Beetle’s calling card making the Blue Beetle look like a murder.
He also kidnaps Joan Mason and ties her to the end of a howitzer. This would have also been the end of Joan had not the Blue Beetle saved her at the last moment. It appeared the Porky was killed in the tussle but a newspaper boy reports his capture showing he survived the fall that looked like it may have killed him.
