Origin
Professor Utonium, often referred to simply as The Professor, is a scientist and father who lives in the city of Townsville with his three little girls – Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. His daughters are more commonly known as The Powerpuff Girls.

Professor Utonium was created by Craig McCracken.
Character Evolution
Professor Utonium created the girls in his laboratory, and while he intended to create three perfect little girls he never intended for them to have superpowers. But, while working on his experiment, the Professor’s pet monkey – a simple creature named Jojo – caused an accident, and the Professor accidentally added Chemical X to the recipe. The resultant chemical reaction caused the girls to be created with powers, and also turned little Jojo into Mojo Jojo, the evil monkey with a super intellect.
