Quond was murdered in the 2684 Sector House by his partner Tanakata Z, who was also killed in the battle. Although a dying Tanakata Z implicated Guy Gardner as the murderer, it was later learned that both Green Lanterns were victims of mind-controlling spores that had infested Tanakata Z while he was on Mogo seeking counsel.
