Creation
Ratface was created as a foil and assistant for the sorceress Magica De Spell‘s second appearance onward. He was designed by the great Carl Barks.
Other media
Although Ratface did not appear in the TV show Ducktales, a version of him did. This version was called Poe De Spell and was only a raven in appearance. Due to some unexplained event, Poe, who is Magica’s brother, was turned into a raven and Magica needs the number one dime to change him back. It is unknown whether they are actually the same with different back stories or whether they are separate beings.
