Her husband Thomas refused an offer on their land from Cornelius Van Lunt which caused him to order a drive-by on their home. This killed Rebecca and Thomas but spared her son William who had recently come to visit. This set William on a mission to commune with Owayodata so that he could help him fix the problem. Owayodata didn’t fix the problem but gave William the power to avenge his family, thus a new Red Wolf was born.
