Redfin was essentially the prince of the Sea Devils, as his father was their Ocean Master. However he showed no interest in leadership, instead choosing to hang out with his friends and go to the surface. Redfin even dated human girls as an act of rebellion. But when a mutated crab attacked his home and killed his father Redfin reluctantly accepted his role as the leader of the Sea Devils.
