Webster was living in Louisiana in 1943 ,he had gotten engaged to a woman that owned a plantation and was going to kill her after the marriage .After the marriage ,Webster wore became a   costume villian ,who called himself the Reptile .As the Reptile he attacked and killed many of the guests ,this prompted his wife to contact the Human Torch and Toro who was in town .They captured ,  unmasked him and sent him to prision .
