Rey Yan

Rey Yan is a young boy whose parents die at the start of the series. He and his sister Mey eventually make their way to the capital city under the promise of protection from the prime minister. There at the Gigantic Pagoda he and thousands of other orphans were locked in a dark room and where each given a sword and told to fight. For months they fought, with little food and insanity all around them. The survivors were swallowed by a dark entity. When he woke up he had a demon stone embedded in his forehead. He was saved from insanity by master Loruan and his disciple Shyao. Later it is revealed that master Loruan died to save the lives of Shyao and Rey. We also find out that Shyao betrayed Rey who retreated in the mountains.
