Ron is a graduate of Howard University who was the editor of the school’s newspaper. He also had several internships including one at the Daily Planet. Ron applied for and was hired as an editorial assistant position at Newstime magazine. (Adventures of Superman #481) As a Daily Planet reporter; he often disagreed with Daily Planet’s sports editor Steve Lombard on almost everything. This has been retconned out as has his son Sam Troupe who was named after his father in law. Troupe first appeared as a replacement for Clark Kent in a year without Superman.

Ron Troupe only appeared in the episode 10×18 “Booster” and had only a cameo. He was played by the actor P.J. Prinsloo.

Ron was a reporter for the Daily Planet and was the one who wrote an article about Metropolis’ good Samaritan (aka Superman). In season ten Clark bumped into Ron who told him that he need to pay more attention when he’s walking.

He was mentioned two times and was seen in one episode due the whole series.
