Ronny lost his mutant powers during M-Day. Distraught he hunted down a group called the New Mutates who had replaced their powers with cybernetics. The New Mutates were the pawns of Sugar Man who was looking for a way to get back to his home in the Age of Apocalypse. Sugar Man implanted Ronny with cybernetic implants, approximating his old powers and sent Ronny through a dimensional portal to look for Sugar Man’s home. Unfortunately, the portal only led to a nightmarish realm of monsters who promptly ate Ronny.
