Roscoe attempted to send his own nephew Joey into a warehouse so he and his cronies could rob the place but Joey didn’t want to do it. Roscoe lashed at his nephew only to be taken out himself by a visiting Black Bolt who had just come to New York on a mission. After dispatching the rest of Roscoe’s crew Black Bolt took the now unconscious Joey away from the violent scene.
Roscoe woke up some time later and began looking for his nephew and the man who knocked him out. Unbeknownst to the pair Roscoe eventually did stumble upon them as Black Bolt was uttering a single syllable that caused catastrophic damage to a nearby ship. Black Bolt’s brother Maximus had moments earlier made Black Bolt forget his own powers which made him unknowingly unleash said damage when he spoke.
