Rovo was sent off in a rocket along with the only son of Professor Charles Keith who put the boy and dog in the rocket to save them from a tidal wave set to destroy their tropical home. Rovo accidentally bumped the rocket’s controls which sent the craft to the planet Zumoor. On Zumoor, Rovo and the boy gained super-powers from the planet’s low gravity and the golden energy rays from the moon. The boy, who was adopted by the kindly Kazzans, grew to become Mighty Boy with Rovo acting as his dog sidekick. Later both Rovo and Mighty Boy would meet and befriend Superboy.
