Rowena is from a race of giants known as the Earthborn but unlike them, she does not look down on humans. Instead she treats them as equals, going so far as to marry a human named Cedric. She has fought against a dragon, her own sister, and even a wizard (who shrank the mighty giantess down to mere inches) because of this.
However, during her time with humans she has faced people fearing and hating her due to her colossal size. She has also fought and defeated many giant hunters without seriously harming any of them as she is more peace-loving than aggressive. Rowena is the self-appointed defender of the village of Appleton, protecting it from all manner of enemies, large and small.
