Rubberman

Origin

Whilst on vacation with his father in Calcutta, James Hollis stopped to watch a local man doing the Indian Rope Trick. After the trick was finished the Fakir overheard James’ father insulting his trick and advising James not to give the man any money for his trouble. The Fakir decided to curse James’ father to become a man made of rubber, but accidentally cursed James instead.

When the two got back home James’ dad was murdered by men working for a rival company, James himself then learned that he had gained the ability to stretch his body and resolved to catch the killers.

Creation

Rubberman was created for Odhams’ comic, Smash, first appearing in its 15th Issue in 1966.

Powers

Rubberman can stretch and warp his body, bullets bounce off him and he is resistant to blunt impacts.
