Origin
Ryan Hanover grew up in an impoverished neighborhood of West Memphis, Arkansas. Ryan’s dad was an alcoholic and his mom worked as a waitress for much of his childhood. On becoming a teenager, Ryan began getting in and out of trouble with the law. However, Ryan decided to straighten up after his brother died; so he enlisted in the military to escape the influences in his world. Unlike the rest of the soldiers in Pinehearst’s program, Ryan volunteered to be a part of it and was not simply recruited.
Ryan along with Rachel Mills and David Sullivan were all trapped in Pinehearst during a chemical explosion due to Flint Gordan Nathan and Peter Petrelli’s dispute in the upper labs. Immediately after the explosion Ryan disappeared and came out of hiding with two out of the Evolved human serums and a flesh wound across his rib cage. After a brief argument with Rachel and a gun, Rachel snatches a serum injects David because he is in dire need of it, Ryan shoots at David causing him to flee with his new found agility and speed. David later appears behind Ryan and mangles him off screen. There’s been words that he died that day.
